Course Description

Course Description:

With recent advances in medical care, patients with multiple medical problems are living longer. These patients are seen in many different physical and occupational therapy settings where their characteristic limited tolerance to activity and exercise presents a challenge to clinicians. Most of the tried and true therapy techniques are not useful with patients who are sick and deconditioned. This course is meant to address this challenging situation. It focuses on objective parameters that can be used to assess these clients and monitor their progress. Ideas for care plans are included as well as a strong emphasis on clinical interventions. In the productivity-oriented rehab environments in which we work now, this course is timely in the information and skills it presents.
